Circle weaving, also known as circular weaving or round weaving, is similar to regular weaving, but it’s done on a round loom instead of a rectangular loom.
Workshops are held on a regular basis at the Macroom School of Art throughout the year. All materials are provided.
Each workshop runs for a day from 10am to 5pm. You will be shown how to set up and warp a circular loom, learn a variety of stitches and be able to experiment with an array of yarns that will give you the means to make your own, unique wall decorations. To sign up for a workshop contact the Macroom School of Art ([email protected]).
It is also possible to book me to give a workshop in your community. Simply send me a message via my website or by email or give me a call to get a quote.
Looking forward to meeting you!
Nano Nagle Exhibition
In 2021 I facilitated a circular weaving workshop at Nano Nagle place in Cork with a group called ‘The Crochet Ladies’ of The Lantern Community project. Over the course of a few weeks, we reflected on ‘What colours our lives’ and translated this through circular weaving into 2 beautiful pieces of art that are now on permanent display in the gift shop at Nano Nagle.
